Can my sales go up thanks to a blog?

Having a blog or a content marketing strategy, will surely raise the probabilities of sales. This is because each time more and more search engines give better positions to pages with original, relevant and innovative content. The best place to put all of this content is in a blog, as these are the "best friends" of search engines. A blog makes the labour of searching much more easier for the engines and this allows us to have a better position. The rule is simple, the more quality content you have the more possibilities of appearing in searches of our potential customers. This will raise the amount of sales.

On the other hand, if we do not have a blog and we only focus in our products, most probably when our prospects are searching, how to satisfy one of their needs that one of our products can satisfy, they will never find us. Therefore, if we do produce valuable content with the correct information, the prospect will know what product he or she needs and that we can sell it to them.

Following is a very simple example: Sony is already using a content marketing strategy and therefore they are very well positioned in search engines. Therefore, I use Google and put my need about how to repair PlayStation 4. This is what happens:

how to repair playstation4

As you can see in the image, Sony has position number one for this problem. So they have great chances of me clicking on their link. Once I click on their link I see that they exchange the play station 4 and give me some solutions. This is great as for something which I bought for so much money, I can get easy information from the brand. This gives me a sense that Sony is worried about their customers and I will surely trust them again even though my play station 4 broke down.

Therefore, as you can see, having a blog does affect our sales, but you always have to have in mind that you have to produce relevant and original content which will satisfy the needs of our customers as it is the only way a content marketing strategy can be successful. What is more, thanks to our experience we know that producing a lot of content is not  a good practice and results are worse than when we produce one good piece of content for our blog. This is because ten bad articles will have a poor position, while just one properly done will have a good position which will allow us to solve problems and make sales.

What is your opinion on having a blog to raise sales?

Using Online Conferences as a Digital Marketing tool

Digital Marketing consists of a number of strategies that when put together will enhance the performance and reputation of a business. This will allow the company to be better known and therefore have a positive impact on their sales. Some of the most used and known strategies of Digital Marketing are SEO, SEM, Social Media, Content Marketing, Affiliate Marketing ... Although, today we want to discuss about a new and different strategy that we think is one of the best to get leads or contacts. This consists of online conferences

In order to do a online conference, we just need a microphone and computer. We can use different software tools such as Go To Meeting, Hangouts, GVO Conference, Webex ... Obvioulsy before starting this strategy we need to prepare the conference and start an online advertising campaign being it Social Media PPC platforms or SEM strategies such as Google Adwords. We need to advertise our conference to get the leads we need. In other words, the main objective of doing an online conference is to reach our target audience and have their contacts. After this by applying different digital marketing strategies we can sell our product or service.

Furthermore, the best way to prepare our online conference is by creating content in our blog. Therefore, we are starting with an content marketing strategy. Secondly, we would start a SEM or PPC campaign to attract quality contacts and finally we will carry out the online conference

The  best way to understand this is by illustrating this process with an example. Let's say we sell marketing courses and we decide to create an online conference to promote our products. For this, we will offer and online conference, which includes exclusive content and creates a need of acquiring one of our courses to our audience. We can advertise the online conference as an online mini-marketing course, which is totally free. This will allow us to attract those people who are really interested in studying marketing and are wanting to do a course. Once we have everything clear, we will announce it in our web page and blog. As we won't have enough traffic and we need to make the online conference as quick as possible to start selling our courses, we put in place a PPC strategy. This strategy will allow us to have several leads as we will offer our visitors a free invitation to our online conference if they give us an email. Now we will have to conduct a high quality webinair and after that start other digital marketing strategies such as email marketing in order to sell our marketing courses to all of the assistants of our online conference

Now that you know how an online conference can help your business, are you ready to start?

Affiliate Marketing

A lot is being said and heard in the social media about earning money through your blog. We can actually find millions of courses and examples of people that are living thanks to their blog. You just have to search a bit through the net. Earning money from a blog is difficult, but it is possible and one of the strategies you can use to do this is applying affiliate marketing. There are many people who are really making money thanks to affiliate marketing. The main point for this strategy to work is having a blog with lots of traffic. For this we must produce relevant and original content.

Furthermore, let's see what is affiliate marketing exactly and how it can help us earn money in the online world using our blog, which I insist that the main point is that it needs high quality traffic. This strategy, is very simple as the only thing you need to do is place links of other businesses in your blog. If your visitors buys the product or service of the third party, you will earn a commission. The commission, can be any type of percentage it will all depend on the third party. Although as there are so many companies or people offering links of their businesses to others, you can choose from plenty and decide which one has a quality product or service and pays you well. This third parties are the ones that are at the other end of the affiliate marketing strategy.

Therefore, we have two ways to earn money using the affiliate marketing strategy. The first one is to have a product or service and decide to put a affiliate system in place so others can share your product or service and then give them a certain percentage of the sales they generate. The second one and the most interesting for bloggers. To become a affiliate and share links in order to make money from their blogs.

In addition, we should mention that there are ways and ways to conduct an affiliate marketing strategy. Many bloggers think that generating lots of content for their blog and placing many links and having a good position in search engines such as Google, they will generate many sales. Others think that using banners in their blog is enough and it will allow them to earn money. Although generally many fail and don't achieve their objectives.

Consequently, here you have some tips to start earning money thanks to your blog and the implementation of an affiliate marketing strategy.

1: Concentrate in one single market. For example, if you have a blog about finance, offer your readers products or services of others that are related to finance. Don't start to promote products and services which simply do not match the profile of your readers. In other words, offer your target public what they are looking for. Therefore, you should have in mind that having a blog about different topics such as finance, sports and music, is not effective. It is better to have three different blogs, this will allow us to have a better segmentation which will lead to better results. The more focused you are in a market the better.

2: Transmit credibility. Tell your readers that you have tried the product or service and what did it give you or how did it fulfill your needs. You won't be able to do this if you have not really tried the product or service. Therefore before promoting a third party, try it and if it is good enough for you then it will be good for your readers but don't offer them something which is not good for you because you will be treating your readers as stupid. This will lead to less credibility and your readers will stop buying products you promote and by the end of the day you won't be able to generate business through your blog.

3: Stop using banner and use links. Although do not use any links, Use those that you can place inside a post. In other words if you are writing about affiliate marketing and you are an affiliate to a course about affiliate marketing, place a link in a natural way so that it comes in the middle of the post. For example after writing about what is affiliate marketing, you can mention that you learned a lot and you are earning a potential amount of money thanks to the course you did in ________(here you will place your link). Have in mind that placing many links inside your post can confuse your reader or make him feel he is just being offered products or services and he or she will stop reading your blog. Remeber to transmit value, don't try to sell through your posts, sales will automatically come thanks to the value you are giving to your readers.

4: Be patient. Be constant with your affiliate marketing strategy. Don't try to sell from the first moment, continue transmiting credibility to your readers and be calm results will eventually come. Offer free valuable and premium content to your reader asking them to just give you their email. This way you can send them emails informing about new posts and continue generating credibility. Remeber, to also place some links in your emails.

As you can see affiliate marketing, is one of the ways to generate business thanks to your blog, but there are other ways such as offering your own services or products and why not, placing yourself a affiliation system in order for others to promote your product or service. Affiliate marketing is a strategy classified under the win-win-win. I will explain you what I mean. First of all, the one that starts an affiliation system will win because all the marketing is done by others and he or she will only have to pay for their service if they generate sales. It is a win situation for the blogger as you are writing about something you like and earning money. Finally, it is good also for the final user because he or she has been transmitted a sense of credibility and is purchasing the product or service that will really satisfy his or her needs.

I hope that now you know a bit more about affiliate marketing and I really wish you can implement this strategy soon and earn money, but always remember the main clue is to generate lots of traffic otherwise it wont work.

Web Usability

Web usability, is a very important concept to have in mind while designing a web page. The web designer may or not have this aspect in mind, but the online marketer must have it. Therefore, when you are designing a web page, it is essential to consult an online marketer who will give some considerations to have in mind so the web site is designed having in mind the web usability concept.

Web usability, allows us to enhance the experience of the visitor to our web page, the better it is the better the probabilities of making these visits into customers. As you can see this concept is very important, so do not forget while improving or designing your web page to ask a digital marketer about web usability. The marketer won't only allow the visitors to have a better experience, but it will also allow the web page to have a better position (SEO).

You can find now a few tips about web usability:

1: The main objective of the web usability is to enhance visitors experience. Therefore, the web page must clearly show what the user must do once inside our web site. In other words, allow the visitor to find what he or she is looking for in the easiest and simple way, without any type of stress.

For example, we have an online clothing store. The user enters our web page and wants to search for t-shirts. Now, if our business has t-shirts for sale, but the button that leads to this section is hidden or without a good visibility, we can say the web page has a poor web usability. In other words, the user once in our home page has to click on the button "shirts and t-shirts" and once in this web page, he or she has to click on another button that says, "t-shirts". On the other hand, if in our home page itself, we have a button that clearly states "t-shirts" the user finds what he is looking for in just one click and we can say there is a good web usability

2: Observe how our visitors interact with our web page by using analytic tools. This way we can identify certain patterns and design our web page accordingly to enhance the web usability

3: Effectiveness: Have in mind the number of errors a user can have inside our web page. We have to try to make sure there are the minimum amount of errors a user can make in our web page.

4: Efficiency: We have to have in mind the amount of time a user will take to complete a task. The lower the time the better.

5: High user satisfaction while completing tasks will allow to have a high quality web usability.

In conclusion, web usability, is a concept we have to have in mind to improve the experience of our visitors. The clearer the steps to follow by the visitor the better. We have to make sure messages and buttons are clearly seen by the visitor and they have the correct information available at every moment. In other words, we must give everything chewed to the user, the easier it is the better for them and for our business.

How to manage efficiently Google Adwords campaigns with limited budgets?

In this post, I am going to reveal the great secret that account managers of Google Adwords use, when they are dealing with campaigns with limited budgets.

As you already know, the main task of an Google Adwords account manager is to analyze statistics that the Google Adwords tool shows us and make decisions to optimize the accounts. Therefore, the most important issue in every Google Adwords campaign, whether the budget is limited or unlimited, is to have sufficient data. In other words collect enough data to be able to analyze and reach conclusions in order to make adequate actions.

We can only do this, when our keywords have sufficient data and there are clear statistics, so as Google Adwords account managers we can make one decision or another. Taking this as a premise, I think I have already given you the clue on how to handle Google Adwords accounts with limited budgets efficiently.

Don't worry if you have not yet discovered the secret, just continue reading. Well the secret is to collect sufficient data and as we have limited budget, we have to concentrate in a few keywords instead of having many. Therefore, the steps to follow are the following:

1: When we are planning a new Google Adwords campaign, one of the main things we have to do is come up with keywords. Generaly, we end up with lots of keywords. In this case, as we have a limited budget, we should only start off with few keywords, the ones we believe will have the best conversions or performance. On the other hand, if you already have a campaign running, you should start to pause those keywords that are not being effective and allow the other more relevant ones for your business to run and collect data.

2: Once you have few keywords running, you should start to analyse day to day what is happening. When you see that your keywords are not enough to reach the daily budget, add more. You can also think in raising your bids for the keywords that have low positions.

3: Once you collect enough data to analyse, you can start deciding which keywords to pause or which ones to raise or lower the CPC, etc.

4: Now you can activate more keywords, but remember to activate them little by little so all of them collect that essential data we need to be able to analyze their effectiveness and make better decisions,

5: You can do the same with the adds, segmentations or extensions that you have in your Google Adwords account.

To understand all this better, let's see a simple example and you will realize how this technique so widely used is true:

We have an account with 100 keywords and our budget is of 10€ a day. The average CPC is 0.50€. Therefore, in one day we can have up to 20 clicks. Let's suppose each click goes to a different keyword. We will still have 80 keywords without any data and possibly the ones that have received a click today, it will take a long time to collect sufficient data to be able to make decisions to optimize our account efficiently. On the other hand, if we only activate 8 keywords, we will be able to collect sufficient data in a few days. This will allow us to make well structured decisions to optimize our account from week one. Although if we would have started our campaign with the 100 keywords, our budget will be dispersed and to be able to collect data and make proper decisions would take us a while. Perhaps more than two months and when two months have passed and you have not had any results on your Google Adwords campaigns, you will probably decide to quit and think that online advertising in Google Adwords does not work. In addition, now you know that this is because the account has not been optimized correctly because you have not collected sufficient data.

In other words the great secret is:
